Tambaram Spot: ‘Leo’ audio launch cancelled

Tambaram: In a shocking turn of events, the producers of ‘Leo’, starring Vijay, have cancelled the much-awaited audio release event.

Earlier, the event was expected to take place on September 30 at Nehru Stadium.

On Tuesday night, Seven Screen Studio, the producers, tweeted the news and cited the “overwhelming request for passes” as the reason for cancellation. “Considering overflowing passes requests & safety constraints, we have decided not to conduct the Leo Audio Launch. In respect of the fans’ wishes, we will keep you engaged with frequent updates. P.S. As many would imagine, this is not due to political pressure or any other reasons,” the producers tweeted.

These recent developments followed earlier denials by the producers regarding political interventions in the ground-level promotions of Leo in Tamil Nadu.

Rumours had circulated about Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin allegedly exerting political pressure on the producers and obstructing the event at Chennai’s Nehru Stadium.

Udhayanidhi, who also owns Red Giant Movies, faced accusations of using state influence to secure lucrative deals from the ‘Leo’ producers.

Seven Screen Studio swiftly responded with a clarification, refuting the rumours.
