Madras high Court restrains Udhayanidhi from making allegations against EPS

The Madras High Court granted a two-week interim injunction on Thursday, prohibiting Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin from making derogatory claims against AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS).

However, Justice RN Manjula stated that this injunction would only apply to defamatory or injurious statements tying EPS to the Kodanad murder case or making unsubstantiated allegations of corruption against him.

The Court was hearing a defamation complaint brought by EPS through Senior Counsel Vijay Narayan, who asked the Court to stop Stalin from tying his name to the 2017 Kodanad murder case and charging him of corruption.

Justice Manjula said that EPS had made a prima facie case for grant of an interim injunction.
